Responsible for clinical application training for clinical staff, new employees and medical staff.
Responsibilities:
Essential Function I
Conducts clinical application training for clinical staff, new employees and medical staff.
- Conducts/co-facilitates end user training sessions.
- Evaluates end user efficiency in use of applications.
- Follows a training plan/curriculum for intended audience.
- Adjusts training style to fit needs of learner.
- Blended delivery of training tools
- Combination of training tools
- Utilizes a variety of learning approaches to assist with learning retention.
- Learner active participation
- Repetition
- Communication/collaboration with other Health System facilities to assure optimal training plan.
- Acts as a liaison to other hospital departments to coordinate training.
- Analyzes audits to identify end user compliance/utilization issues.
Maintains/Updates Training Plan/Curriculum
- Assures plan contains a combination of approaches.
- Reviews/Updates plan with each software upgrade, project minimally each year.
- Updates Computer Based Training modules as indicated.
Maintains Training Domain
- Participates in patient and data entry to assure prepared training domain for new users.
- Assures domain prep prior to each training session.
Participates as a member of a project team for training & support of new or upgrade of applications.
- Participates in project team to design training plan.
- Identifies project obstacles and roadblocks and assists in leading to resolution.
- Serves as a resource for training.
- Completes assigned projects according to established timeline.
- Participates in testing of new application/code for all user positions.
- Develops training curriculum and training materials for new applications.
- Trains new applications according to developed training plan.
- Supports end users on site during implementation.
System Collaboration/Representation
- Participates as informatics training representative on assigned committees/projects.
- Completes project work according to established timeline.
Updates/utilizes knowledge of national trends to enhance informatics training practice.
- Participates in ongoing educational activities related to Health Care IT.
- Networks with other facilities using similar software/application.
Communication / Privacy / Customer Service.
- Communication/collaboration with other Health System facilities/staff to assure integration.
- Assures data and access privacy, confidentiality and security.

Job Requirements
Education
- Associates degree in a relevant field required.
- Satisfactory completion of annual mandatory education requirements.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience
- 3 yrs. experience in adult education/computer training or experience in a information technology health care setting required.
License/Certifications
- Must have a valid driver's license and car to travel independently to all Health System Affiliate facilities.
- If certified/licensed as a health care professional, must maintain licensure.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Demonstrates the ability to manage change in a complex environment.
- Skills in the use of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Knowledge of healthcare informatics systems and operations.
- Ability to balance change and continually strive to improve customer service.
- Ability to assess employee's training needs and provide education/learning experiences to maximize employee's potential and productivity.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
