Overview

Responsibilities

The Region Chief Clinical Informatics Officer (rCCIO) oversees the strategic implementation and management of Clinical informatics (CI) across a designated region within CommonSpirit Health. The rCCIO is an innovative leader with the
vision, knowledge and skills to leverage informatics that facilitate clinicians to improve care outcomes. This leadership role ensures that informatics solutions enhance patient care and support interdisciplinary collaboration between therapies, nursing, and other clinical teams in their assigned region. This role will lead, orchestrate, and align CommonSpirit Health’s regional efforts with national initiatives as well as market-specific priorities. 

 

This role will partner closely with the Vice-President/Regional Chief Medical Informatics Officer (rCMIO ) to ensure technology supports the Regional CEO, CMO, CNO, and CIO. These dyad roles optimize patient care while promoting efficient workflows to ensure the achievement of regional clinical support and patient care needs, standardization of clinical practice and by utilizing change management principles. This role will provide the leadership to bridge not only regional governance but also communication of National System standards to the regional/market stakeholders. This role will also be recognized as the domain expert who represents the needs of the region, state, and market for both acute and ambulatory care as it relates to health information technology. This role will directly partner with the System VP/ CNIOs along with the System VP/Regional Chief Medical Information Officers; System CNIO for Implementation; System CI leader, and leader of Change Management and Standardization. The rCCIO will be responsible for optimizing clinical workflows, and driving the adoption of innovative technologies to improve patient care, enhance operational efficiency, and achieve meaningful clinical and financial outcomes.

Qualifications

Education Requirements: 

  • Masters degree required in Nursing, Clinical Therapies, Pharmacy or other health related fields. 
    • Doctorate degree preferred *This is not a provider role.*
  • An additional degree in Health Informatics, Nursing Informatics or Information systems, Business Administration or Healthcare Management is preferred

 

Experience Requirements 

  • Minimum 10 years in Clinical Healthcare leadership experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in clinical informatics or digital health transformation is required.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and implementing large-scale clinical information system projects
