Job Summary
Job Description
- Helps manage the statewide Epidemiology and Surveillance for the newborn screening (NBS) for the Office of Public Health's (OPH) Bureau of Family Health (BFH).
- Performs statistical analysis (e.g. descriptive analysis, univariate analysis, trend analysis, multiple regression analysis, etc.) to compile, maintain, and analyze data
- Identifies the target areas and risk factors among populations to plan and design program intervention activities.
- Conducts data linkages with other systems such as Medicaid, Vital Records, and EarlySteps.
- Provides statistical and system analysis to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of intervention activities.
- Conducts data analysis (based on work plans, data requests, data quality checking, programmatic scorecards, and datasets).
- Creates and submits statistical reports to federal grantors and other partners, as requested, and supervise the production of all other statistical reports used in monitoring, evaluating, and improving program effectiveness.
- Conducts special studies and produce reports as requested by BFH.
- Assists in federal grant application preparation and completion of required reports, through writing, provision of data, and identifying evaluation measures.
- Helps lead program evaluation for the CDC through development of logic model, indicators, questions, monitoring plan, data analysis, and report.
- Rapidly responds to data requests from CDC, HRSA, and other federal, state, and local agencies.
- Responsible for all aspects of Newborn Screening data transition/transforming among systems
- Other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree, or Associate’s degree plus 3 years of professional experience, or 6 years of professional work experience.
- Minimum 1 year professional experience performing administrative functions within an office environment or health care field.
- Minimum 1 year professional experience with data analysis and/or using data analysis software and tools.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills; effective organizational and time management skills.
- Great attention to detail and follow up.
- Ability to manage projects, assignments, and competing priorities.
- Proficient in the use of Zoom, Teams, and Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel.
DESIRED:
- Advanced degree.
- Minimum 2 years professional experience performing administrative functions within an office environment or health care field.
- Minimum 2 years professional experience with data analysis and/or using data analysis software and tools.
- Minimum 2 years professional epidemiology experience.
- Relevant industry certifications.
