The role/Te mahi

Our Administrators serve as vital points of contact for staff, students, and visitors, making strong customer service skills essential to the role. 

In this role you will  provide teaching support for the 5th and 6th year medical students as well as support to the Head of Department and general Department administration.

We're on the lookout for a talented administrator with strong organisational and administrative skills to join our team. In this role supporting Health Sciences, you'll play a key part in supporting our world-class academics, pioneering researchers, and the next generation of health professionals. You'll bring proven experience from a fast-paced, complex administrative setting, along with top-tier proficiency in Microsoft Office tools. 

Other skills and experience you will ideally have:
•    Previous experience in an operational administration and/or customer service role.
•    An ongoing commitment to positive outcomes for our students and staff as well as a focus on continuous improvement
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail.
•    Ability to work proactively and supportively within a team to create a positive culture.
•    Willingness to work collegially and support colleagues from across the School
•    Commitment to working in a culturally safe and respectful manner and demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of Te Ao Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, and Pasifika values.

About our team/Mō te tīma

Divisional Services and Administration is a team of highly skilled professionals responsible for delivering outstanding patient, student and staff experiences through high quality, confidential administrative and operations support services. We are a strong supportive whakawhanaungatanga (community), proud of the work we do as the largest workforce in the university, spanning every corner of the motu.

This position is a full time (37.5 hours per week), fixed term contract, located in Ōtepoti, Dunedin. The role is available from 7 July 2025 to 7 August 2026.

The appointment range for this role at Level 4 is $61,360 to $65,879. Top of Range $71,150
